Whilst Makati is a suburb of Metro Manila it can be easily confused for the business capital of the Philippines with its sky scrapers, luxury hotels, huge shopping complexes interspersed with up market condominiums where the expatriate community dwell. 

Home to banks and financial institutions, Makati has well earned its reputation of being the financial capital of the Philippines.

With its hundreds of restaurants and bars it presents as an excellent base from which other sights of Metro Manilla can be accessed.
